BENEFITS and ACTIONS of LASER IRRADIATION of the BLOOD

The benefits of various forms of laser therapy have been known for over 70 years. It has been successfully used in treating pain, skin problems, cardio-vascular disorders and more.
In particular, we use the HeNe (Helium/Neon) transcutaneous system which has been shown to the functional efficacy of the following: vascular, respiratory, immune, hormonal and other systems/organs as a whole. Interestingly, the effects are obtained with relatively low power (20-30 mW) for a period of 20-60 minutes. There have been NO SIDE-EFFECTS reported in the proper use of this therapy (of course, never would a laser be directed into the eyes).
The use of lasers is world-wide now and many practitioners use laser therapy as a replacement for acupuncture needles or injection techniques, especially on those sensitive to needles, the very young or for more internal conditions (systemic improvement in the immune or vascular systems). In addition, laser therapy is being successfully used to improve skin conditions and age-related damage.

BENEFITS of LASER

EFFECTS
It has been shown in numerous clinical trials that HeNe stimulates the immune response, improves the bactericidal activity of the blood, erythrogenesis (white blood-cell production), reduces C-reactive proteins and improves circulating immune complexes. In addition, the rheological properties are improved with an ability to carry oxygen. Metabolism can be increased with this improvement in the oxygenation of the blood. Peripheral blood flow can be increased, flow velocity improved and the micro-circulation enhanced. Indirectly, this can lead to a normalization of nervous excitability and vaso-dilation in the limbs (hence, a possible treatment option for diabetic neuropathy). Again, this is without actual penetration of the skin. The effect is achieved with the development of suitable IR (infra-red) laser diodes, which maintain the coherent function of the laser. This allows the laser to maintain its “strength” through the skin which can lead to positive effects upon the organism. In addition, the biophotons of the cell (the light energy found within the cell) are activated. This idea is similar to the Chinese Medical idea of “Qi”. Using the proper wavelength (632.8 nanometers), we can achieve lasting results in various tissues/systems.
COURSE
Typically, the laser is attached on the surface of the skin along a large vein. The treatments last about 1 hour and a course of treatments is prescribed to follow for the best results. No pain or irritation is experience, as the laser “nose” does not penetrate the skin.
